Sweny’s Bookshop: Daily James Joyce Readings
27 January 2013 @ 6.00pm - 8.00pm
Whether you’re a Joycean novice or a scholar, hearing Joyce’s novels read aloud can bring the text to life in a new way and is considered by some as the best way to experience Joyce’s words.
Sweny’s holds a number of readings of Ulysses and other works by James Joyce throughout the week – check with them as the schedule below may change.
Sunday 6-8pm Finnegan’s Wake
Monday 1-2pm Finnegan’s Wake
Tuesday 1-2pm Dubliners
Wednesday 1-2pm Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man
Thursday 1-2pm Dubliners / 7-9pm Ulysses
Friday 1-2pm Dubliners
Saturday 11-1pm Ulysses
In each of their reading groups, a section of the novel or a series of short stories are read and discussed, and if you’re lucky there may even be a biscuit to go with your cup of tea afterwards!
Places are limited, so arrive early. If you have any queries about the reading groups, please in touch with Sweny’s or check out their website: www.sweny.ie
