Banner Books Poetry and Short Story Competitions

Competition deadline: 8th May 2020

Banner Books is running two writing competitions! One is for poetry and one is for a short story. There will be a €50 Banner Books voucher for one entrant of each competition. Submit your entries (including your full name, address and email) to books@bannerbooks.ie or post to 3 The Square, Ennistymon, Co. Clare, V95 D300 by 8 May. Judging of the final work will be carried out blind by a third party.

Competition rules
1. The poem or short story must be by the person entering the competition and be an original piece.
2. The poem or short story must not have been published elsewhere (except on the writer’s own web page).
3. The piece must be written in the English language.
4. There is no minimum or maximum word length and writers may submit to both competitions.
5. The recipients of the vouchers will be announced on social media and the poem and short story, or extracts of them, will be posted on Facebook and be available to read in the shop.
6. Copyright remains with the author, but Banner Books reserves the right to publish the winning poem and short story on their website and/or as part of an anthology.
7. The vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
No fee. No age limit. Multiple entries accepted.
