As Hemingway once said;
“I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen.”
Inspired by these useful words of advice, this week’s #Wordspark challenge takes you away from your desk…
We want you to take your (trusty) notebook with you on your commute/coffee break/walk etc and listen out for interesting snippets of conversation.
Turn what you hear into a short poem, piece of flash fiction or section of prose. The length is up to you – and it doesn’t even need to be a finished piece. The idea is to find or make something extraordinary from the everyday and ordinary.
Post your work into the comments below and make sure you highlight the overheard snippets in some way. We’re looking forward to seeing the results of your detective work!
