Competition deadline: 1st February 2020

Comma Press is currently working in collaboration with Hay Festival and Wom@rts to present Europa28 – an anthology of essays and short stories bringing together 28 acclaimed women from 28 European countries to envision the future of Europe, which we believe is much needed in this tumultuous and ever-changing time.

As part of this project, Hay Festival is running a writing competition which we think could be of interest to you to promote in your magazine. The brief is as follows:

In 100–500 words tell us what Europe means to you. It can be written in whichever form you choose – letter, poem, short story, play, song, rap – with submissions accepted in English, Spanish, French and Croatian.

The overall winner will earn a trip for two to Hay Festival Europa28 in Rijeka, Croatia, with festival tickets, accommodation and travel included, as well as a first edition of the new Hay Festival Europa28 collection. Submissions will need to be emailed as an attachment with a name, address, age and contact phone number to europa28@hayfestival.com.

We hope you can share this fantastic opportunity with your audience, and good luck with your submissions.
