Create Publishing launches into the Indian self-publishing market
Create Publishing, part of leading UK independent publishing group Legend Times, has announced its launch into the Indian self-publishing marketplace.
Create Publishing is the sister company of highly successful self-publisher New Generation Publishing which has been trading in the UK and internationally for almost 10 years. This experience within the self-publishing sector, alongside many traditional publishing link-ups, will see Indian authors benefit from extensive international distribution channels and book markets – predominantly the US, the UK, Europe and Australia. Self-publishing partners will also have access to a wealth of marketing expertise to help increase book sales both domestically and internationally.
Initially based in the UK and the US, Create Publishing will shortly be opening its first Indian-based office. A number of partnerships are in the pipeline across India and internationally to support and grow the business. Initial talks are also underway with potential translation and retail partners around widening product availability across key Indian language markets.
Tom Chalmers, Managing Director of the Legend Times group and CEO at Create Publishing, commented:
“India has long been a fascinating marketplace for the publishing industry and I believe we are at the beginning of something special when it comes to the self-publishing sector. The past year has seen us carefully research the market whilst working closely with a number of individuals and companies – including our traditional book distributor Penguin Random House India. This isn’t a step we are taking lightly, and we have big plans to really shake up the Indian self-publishing sector in the coming months.
“Our extensive links with a range of international contacts and distribution channels established over the past 10 years will help provide Indian authors with the necessary support to make their work available to a global audience. The Create Publishing offering is built on a vast amount of traditional and self-publishing experience, innovative end-to-end solutions, top quality marketing support and the highest possible professional standards which will help push the greatly under-serviced Indian self-published marketplace to the next level.”
