May 16th 2014 will see the launch of  Focal – Wexford Literary Festival.  Wexford Ambassador and RTE Presenter Anne Doyle has very kindly agreed to launch Wexford`s 1st Annual Literary Festival, at 8pm in the Presentation Arts Centre, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.

FocalWexford Literary Festival has been established to celebrate the wealth of literary talent that County Wexford holds. The aim is to make Focal a highlight in the Irish Literary Calendar in what will become an annual event.

Writers from Wexford, Ireland and overseas will join us in what promises to be an exciting programme. This two day festival which will be held in the beautiful and historic locations of Presentation Arts Centre and Enniscorthy Castle, will include masterclasses with authors, playwrights and poets that are all designed to encourage and foster aspiring writers. Aspiring writers will also have the opportunity to book a one-to-one slot with a renowned literary agent, where they can pitch their manuscripts.

Also included in the packed programme is a book fair, with author book signings. The festival is also delighted to announce that it will be hosting the book launch of bestselling Wexford author Carmel Harrington’s much anticipated second novel The Life You Left on 28th June, 2014.

Literary Event Manager, Focal, Maria Nolan says, “Whether you are an author, reader, aspiring writer, bookseller, playwright, theatre director or publishing professional, you are part of our Literati and we look forward to welcoming you to Focal.”
