Master storyteller Rab Fulton will be sharing stories to raise money for the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal. The event takes place on Thursday 14th April at 8pm in The Crane Bar, Galway. Tickets are 10 Euro and can be bought at
“During the last two years, people have been asking if I would ever do a Celtic Tales storytelling show again,” explained Rab. “Now, with the appalling destruction taking place in Ukraine, I felt it was time to share stories and raise money for the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
“Like many people I have stories in my family from previous wars, which I pass on to my children. My grandfather and namesake fought the fascists in Italy and was severely wounded in the battle of Monte Cassino. He was removed to a medical station only to have that bombed by the nazis. He survived but suffered acute physical and mental trauma for the rest of his life. It’s horrific that tales from my family’s history are now being brutally re-enacted against the women, men and children of Ukraine.”
All money from the event will go to the Irish Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal. Red Cross teams are on the ground now in Ukraine and continue their work to repair vital infrastructure, support health facilities, and help families with life-saving food and hygiene items. The Red Cross is also supporting individuals and families suffering displacement, trauma and separation from loved ones.
