Following the success of last year’s event ‘Reaching Out to the World’, Publishing Ireland’s increasingly popular trade day returns this November with the theme: WORKING TOGETHER

Delegates from across the Irish publishing world will come together to consider the challenges and opportunities in the industry, to explore how current relationships can be strengthened and to open up discussion on the kinds of new partnerships and alliances that could emerge in Irish publishing.

Maria Dickenson (MD Dubray Books), Keith Butler (Trading Director, Eason & Son) and Larry McHale (MD Argosy Books) will address the current trading environment and consider the outlook for Irish bookselling and publishing. Sarah Bannan (Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon) and Damian Smyth (Arts Council of Northern Ireland) will discuss current literature policy and how funding for the industry is evolving.

Speakers from the trade and from funding bodies will be joined by Stephen Page, Chief Executive of Faber & Faber, who will share his experiences and ideas on how independent publishers can navigate their way through a challenging publishing environment. With ‘Working Together’ as its platform, Publishing Ireland’s 2014 trade event promises to be bigger and better than ever!
