On 6 April 2022 the 30th edition of ROPES will be launched at Cúirt International Festival of Literature in Galway.

Produced at NUIG by Ireland’s only group of MA level publishing students, the journal’s mission for thirty years has been to act as a platform for established and emerging writers and artists. This year, the team has called far and wide for diverse voices to feature in this special issue, and will host a range of work including poetry, short fiction, non-fiction, and visual art.

The 30th edition includes the work of bright, emerging creatives, as well as pieces from more established writers such as Jessica Traynor and Nuala O’Connor.

Most importantly, ROPES produces its inspired collection in aid of a deserving charity. This year, we continue to support COPE Galway in their work providing senior support services and assisting people affected by homelessness and domestic abuse. All profits from journal sales are donated directly to COPE.

Come to An Taibhdhearc on Middle Street to meet the team, and hear contributors speak about their work and reflect on the impact that ROPES has had on the literary community in Galway and beyond for the past thirty years.
