Being an independent author is never an easy task. Without the backing of the big publishing houses, it can sometimes feel like you’re swimming against the tide. So what can you do to help your book stand out from the crowd?

Lizzie Lamb is a historical romance novelist and is one of the many indie authors working at the coal face to try to get her novels in the hands of prospective readers.

“As an indie author it’s important for word of my books to get out there,” she says. “If I don’t go the extra mile to promote my novels, no one else will.”
