Member Bio:

My name is Antoinette Tyrrell and I am the soon-to-be published author of Home to Cavendish, a work of women's fiction with an historical slant. The novel is set in a Big House in Co. Cork and weaves between 2002 and 1922.
Poolbeg Publishing has kindly offered me a 3-book deal and Home to Cavendish is scheduled to be on bookshelves in early Spring 2019.
I studied English and Modern History at NUI Maynooth, followed by a Higher Diploma in Communications. I worked for a few years in broadcast journalism before moving into the world of Public Relations where I have stayed for the last 15 years. I am currently a Communications and Events Manager in a semi-state organisation.
Home to Cavendish is my first work of fiction to be published.

Home to Cavendish

Home to Cavendish tells the story of Lady Edith Cavendish, who in 1922, bored with the confines of Ascendancy life in rural Co. Cork, embarks on a forbidden love affair with an Irish rebel at the height of the Irish Civil War. But Edith is unaware of the dark secrets surrounding her, in the very rooms through which she walks.

Meanwhile, in 2002, Elenore Stack has inherited her beloved childhood home,Cavendish Hall, from her recently deceased parents. Charming and magical, if in need of much expensive, tender loving care, Cavendish is woven into the tapestry of Elenore’s life. She must somehow find a way to ensure its survival while retaining its dignity.

Enter Donnacha O’Callaghan, Elenore’s property developer boyfriend, who, unbeknownst to Elenore, has plans for Cavendish that will not only change the house beyond recognition but will wipe away Elenore’s precious childhood memories.

Across the generations, the two very different worlds of Elenore and Edith implode upon them. Both women struggle to establish their own identities and forge futures for themselves; forever defined by the roles they play in shaping the legacy of Cavendish Hall.
