About this Organisation
A creative space for writer, musician, or indeed anyone looking for a quiet working place or just time out in a welcoming home from home where you can soak in /stoke up inspiration, immerse yourself in your work and be a total hermit or a bit more social if you wish.
We are a small family run creative retreat based in an historic building dating from 1852, set among trees, with a stream running past our front lawn. We are situated just off the Leenane Rd.- gateway to wild West Mayo and on to Connemara. Our house is only 3 miles from the beautiful town of Westport with all its tourist amenities.

2. Group workshops led by SixPens.com
Workshop Weekends are organised three times a year, or you can tailor make a weekend for your own writing group with Fin and Fiona of SixPens.
Workshops facilitated by : crafted exercises, stimulating reading /and or listening & intensive writing in an atmosphere that is convivial and supportive, yet rigorous and productive.
At these Weekends we cook and share meals to help build comraderie and an opportunity for discussion among the writers.
The Old Rectory Retreat provides food, accommodation, peace and space for writers, both beginners and seasoned. You may continue work you have started or start to find your own voice.
The Writer's Cabin is fully equipped for sleeping, cooking and writing, with a shower room . It's set in its own garden beside the stream. It has a single(can become double) bed. Sleeping and living/writing areas are semi separated.
The Main H0use is divided in two: You'll find The Study in the 'Old Kitchenhouse'. It's a large single room with bed, sofa, large desk and big window overlooking the front garden. It has its own shower room and you can have the use of the kitchen to prepare meals. Róisín provides food for a help-yourself breakfast.
There are two large rooms in 'Churchside' , each with writing desk and wifi. The rooms look out on the gardens and share a bathroom. Mick provides a simple breakfast and you can use the kitchen facilities by arrangement. .There is also a comfortable sitting room on this side of the house which has a piano and can be held for songwriters by arrangement.
