The charts are slowly returning to normal after World Book Day frenzy. Some familiar faces (ahem, Graham Norton) are back in the Top 20, along with a couple of new releases. It’s good to see last week’s featured book, Patricia Scanlan’s Orange Blossom Days, right near the top of the table, next to Sheila O’Flangan with The Missing Wife and Liane Moriarty just creeping into the Top 20 with Big Little Lies, helped along possibly by the HBO dramatisation’s excellent casting (Nicole Kidman, Reese Wetherspoon and Shailene Woodley – really worth checking out!).

Our featured book this week has also managed to beat off the World Book Day heavies and landed in the Top 20, as well as being no. 4 in Original Fiction. Jane Casey’s new Maeve Kerrigan installment, Let the Dead Speak, landed at the beginning of March and has quickly received brilliant reviews from readers on amazon. Here’s some more info:

‘A tremendous sense of suspense’ Sunday Times

In the chilling new crime novel from award-winning author Jane Casey, Detective Maeve Kerrigan and the murder squad must navigate a web of lies to discover the truth…

A murder without a body
Eighteen-year-old Chloe Emery returns to her West London home one day to find the house covered in blood and Kate, her mother, gone. There may not be a body, but everything else points to murder.

A girl too scared to talk
Maeve Kerrigan is young, ambitious and determined to prove she’s up to her new role as detective sergeant. She suspects Chloe is holding something back, but best friend Bethany Norris won’t let Maeve get close. What exactly is Bethany protecting Chloe from?

A detective with everything to prove
As the team dig deeper into the residents of Valerian Road, no one is above suspicion. All Maeve needs is one person to talk, but that’s not going to happen. Because even in a case of murder, some secrets are too terrible to share…

And on to the charts, starting as usual with the Top 20:
