Welcome back to another week in the charts, where Marian Keyes is dominating the top of the Top 20 with the 25th anniversary edition of Rachel’s Holiday (in at no. 3) and grabbing the no. 1 spot with the sequel, Again, Rachel. Let’s see if this can become as well-loved as its big sister!
In other news, the Children’s chart is still heavily dominated by this year’s World Book Day titles, nearly a month after the big day – hopefully a sign of new young readers learning to enjoy books as much as we do!
This week’s featured book is a new release from Dublin author Gill Perdue. Brand new out just before these charts were compiled, The Interview has gone straight in at no. 14 in the Top 20, and at no. 7 in the Original Fiction Top 10. Here’s the blurb:
‘Thrilling and utterly compulsive’ LIZ NUGENT
A girl covered in blood. A missing man. A cryptic fairy tale.
Detective Laura Shaw seems to have it all: a supportive husband, a happy two-year-old and a great career. She is her team’s top interviewer, brilliant at coaxing victims to open up.
Then, she meets Jenny – a 14-year-old assault victim – and the façade crumbles. Jenny’s stepfather is missing, the blood on her clothes is not her own and Laura can’t interpret the fairy tale she keeps repeating.
But Jenny isn’t the only one with secrets. With every hour that passes, Laura loses more of her grip, grappling with the biggest question of all:
Is every life worth saving?
