Welcome back to another week in the bestseller charts, where Old Ireland in Colour continues to storm the charts with well over five thousand sales this week, easily keeping at bay Barack Obama’s A Promised Land and David Walliams’ Code Name Bananas.
We’ve passed the point where, every year, the Top 20 books clock over a thousand sales each and this year is no exception. It’s a great range of titles in this week’s Top 20, with children’s books such as Walliams and the new release from J. K. Rowling, The Ickabog (no. 12), alongside cookery books from Neven Maguire—Neven Maguire’s Midweek Meals—and Trisha Lewis—Trisha’s Transformation: Beat the Bulge and Still Indulge!—at nos. 18 and 17 respectively: perhaps we’re trying to get ahead on our New Year’s Resolutions!
This week’s featured book is a great holiday read for thos dark winter nights. Steve Cavanagh’s latest release, Fifty-Fifty, is at no. 7 in the Mass Market Fiction Top 10. Here’s the blurb:
PART OF BBC TWO’S BOOK CLUB BETWEEN THE COVERS
TWO SISTERS ON TRIAL FOR MURDER. THEY ACCUSE EACH OTHER.
WHO DO YOU BELIEVE?
‘911 what’s your emergency?’
‘My dad’s dead. My sister Sofia killed him. She’s still in the house. Please send help.’
‘My dad’s dead. My sister Alexandra killed him. She’s still in the house. Please send help.’
One of them is a liar and a killer.
But which one?
