Irish Bestsellers 30th April 2022

This week in the charts it’s all about the kids… six out of the overall Top 10 are children’s titles, and in fact, seven of the Children’s Top 10 chart appear in the Top 20. The biggest story is Alice Oseman whose Heartstopper series grabs the overall no. 1, along with nos. 4, 6 and 9; additionally, Nick and Charlie: A Heartstopper novella is slipping into the bottom of the Children’s Top 10. Oseman also has the distinction of preventing David Walliams’ latest book, The World’s Worst Pets, from getting the top spot on release which is no small feat. The Heartstopper series is a new hit on Netflix, another demonstration if we needed one of the power of adaptations to bring us back to the original books.
