There are a couple of notable new releases this week: firstly, Heather Morris’ follow up to her smash hit, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, is brand new out this week, and just made it in time to make a splash in this week’s charts. Cilka’s Journey is at no. 3 in Original Fiction, and no. 5 in the overall Top 20. Regular readers of these charts will know that The Tattooist of Auschwitz has barely been out of the charts since its release well over 18 months ago, as well as inspiring lots of similar stories, so it’ll be interesting to see if Cilka’s Journey can do the same!

The other new release this week is from the wonderfully warm Bill Bryson, as he turns his explorings to The Body. It’s not had a lot of time to climb the charts since its release, just two days before these charts were compiled, but it’s already at no. 8 in Paperback Non-Fiction, and we can definitely expect that to go much higher over the coming weeks.

This week’s featured book is another very recent release, which has quickly gone to the top of the Paperback Non-Fiction and all the way to no. 4 in the Top 20. Michael Harding’s memoir Chest Pain: A Man, a stent and a camper van has had great reviews already and promises to be a firm favourite. Here’s the blurb:

In late 2018, Michael Harding was in a hotel room in Blanchardstown experiencing severe pains in his chest. He eventually phoned an ambulance and was admitted to hospital, suffering from an acute heart attack. Here, in Chest Pain, he looks at the months before the heart attack when he kept the signs of failing health from his beloved and instead retreated into solitude — and with his own inimitable style and humour takes us with him through the months after a stent had been inserted in his heart, where he travels the roads of Donegal in a camper van in a journey back to the beloved, and to himself.

Chest Pain is a thought-provoking, spell-binding memoir about togetherness and what it means to be alive.

And now the charts, with the Top 20 followed by the Top 10 in each category:
