It is a good week to be David Walliams, as he scores not once, but twice in the Top 20! The latest book, The World’s Worst Teachers, is of course at number one with nearly three and a half thousand sales, but he’s also got Fing at no. 18, no. 3 in the Children’s Top 10. Jeff Kinney is also representing the Children’s chart in the overall Top 20, with Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid at no. 8.

In terms of brand new books, there are three new releases in the Top 20 this week. Anne Griffin is at no. 4 with When All Is Said; Roisin Meaney, as mentioned in last week’s charts, is holding The Birthday Party at no. 10; and a new book from Lesley Pearse, You’ll Never See Me Again, is just below Meaney at no. 12.

This week’s featured book is the short but exceptionally inspirational book from teenage environmentalist Greta Thunberg, No One Is Too Small To Make A Difference. Greta is definitely making a difference, inspiring school children across the world to join her in striking to bring global attention to the problems of climate change. Her little book came out just a month or so ago, and is now making an appearance in the Irish Bestsellers at no. 4 for Paperback Non-Fiction. Here’s the blurb:

The history-making, ground-breaking speeches of Greta Thunberg, the young activist who has become the voice of a generation

‘Everything needs to change. And it has to start today’

In August 2018 a fifteen-year-old Swedish girl, Greta Thunberg, decided not to go to school one day. Her actions ended up sparking a global movement for action against the climate crisis, inspiring millions of pupils to go on strike for our planet, forcing governments to listen, and earning her a Nobel Peace Prize nomination.

This book brings you Greta in her own words, for the first time. Collecting her speeches that have made history across Europe, from the UN to mass street protests, No One Is Too Small to Make A Difference is a rallying cry for why we must all wake up and fight to protect the living planet, no matter how powerless we feel. Our future depends upon it.

And now here are the charts, with the Top 20 followed by the Top 10 in each category:
