There’s several new entries into the charts this week, but you won’t see any of them in the Top 5, which are solid favourites and Dan Brown’s newest release.

For those who loved Francis Brennan’s Book of Household Management: How to Create a Happy Home, you could check out Mary Berry’s Mary’s Household Tips and Tricks: Your Guide to Happiness in the Home which is in the Hardback Non-Fiction chart, just in case your home is still in need of that extra bit of happy. If things are getting a little stressful, or if Brexit worries are getting you down, try Brexit and Ireland: The Dangers, the Opportunities and the Inside Story of the Irish Response by Tony Connolly, whose book aims to make sense of the implications of this political earthquake; or perhaps Why Can’t Everything Just Stay the Same? And Other Things I Shout When I Can’t Cope, in which Stefanie Preissner takes an honest and witty look at her difficulties handling change, and which went into the Top 20 as well as no. 3 in Paperback Non-Fiction. In Fiction, we’ve got the beautiful-looking Mrs Osmond by Man Booker-winner John Banville, or, even more exciting, the new illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban over in Children’s: both great ideas for Christmas presents and both into the Top 10 in their respective categories.

The most exciting news this week is, of course, the brand new John Green! Turtles All the Way Down (what a great title!) has gone straight to the top of the Children’s chart and narrowly missed out on the Top 10 overall (why??). If anyone’s not a John Green fan (seriously, what is wrong with you people?), this is the author of the heartbreaking The Fault in our Stars and Searching for Alaska, and he’s back now with what promises to be another beautiful story. Here’s the blurb:

The wait is over! John Green, the #1 bestselling author of The Fault in Our Stars, is back, with a book hailed by the Guardian as ‘a new modern classic’.

‘It’s quite rare to find someone who sees the same world you see.’

Sixteen-year-old Aza never intended to pursue the mystery of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a hundred thousand dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Russell Pickett’s son, Davis.

Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

In his long-awaited return, John Green, the acclaimed, award-winning author of Looking for Alaska and The Fault in Our Stars, shares Aza’s story with shattering, unflinching clarity in this brilliant novel of love, resilience, and the power of lifelong friendship.

First edition includes an exclusive jacket poster featuring some of John’s most brilliant and memorable quotes.

And now your own wait is over, as we move on to this week’s charts, starting with the Top 20, and ending with the Top 10 in each category:
