Irish Writers Dominate the Shortlist for Sunday Times Audible Short Story Award

Last month we reported how Irish writers dominating the longlist for this year’s Sunday Times Audible Short Story Award, accounting for six out of the eighteen stories. Now we can report that three Irish writers feature in the shortlist of six for this prestigious prize.

The Irish writers who have made it on to the shortlist are: Louise Kennedy, Kevin Barry and Danielle McLaughlin.

The Sunday Times Audible Short Story Award is the richest prize for a single short story in the English language, worth £30,000 to the winner. The award, for a story of 6,000 words or less, is open to any novelist or short story writer from around the world who has been published in the UK or Ireland.
