Eco Works: How Electric and Hybrid Cars Work by Nick Hunter

My 8-year-old son Ben took this book out of local library in Gorey, Co Wexford.  Eco Works How Electric and Hybrid Cars Work was first published in the UK in 2015 by The Watts Publishing Group and written by Nick Hunter.

The photographs in the book are taken from several sources with permission and thanks, (all places are named in the book on the inside cover).  The cover is by Dreamstimes.

This lovely information book is simple and education for children both big and small.  It is great that this book for children is addressing the need for environmental changes.  From explaining how cars work to using less fuel, from reducing carbon emissions and looking towards the future, these little chapters highlight a lot of very important things.

At the back of the book there is both an index and a glossary section as well as a page for little readers to know where to find more information on similar materials covered within this book.

An ideal book for primary schools to do a project on Electric and Hybrid cars.

My little reader Ben told me that his favourite parts in the book was on page 5 where you can read about ‘Hybrids up close’, (also on that page is a bit on ‘The future in green’), page 13 readers can learn about both Supermini hybrids and micro-hybrids as well as learn an eco-fact about travelling light.  And on page 19 we can see about both ‘saving the environment’ and ‘Fuel up Close’.
