Submissions Call: Power Cut Literary Magazine | Resources | Getting Published | Submission Opportunities
Power Cut

Submissions deadline: 31st January 2024

Power Cut is an innovative new bi-annual literary magazine dedicated to fiction and art inspired by pop culture and counterculture movements of the 20th century. We accept poetry, short fiction, essays & reviews, and visual art set in or representing the period 1930-1999. We love everything from the hardboiled crime novels of Jim Thompson, the art of Barbara Kruger and Judy Chicago, to the creative powerhouse that is Billy Childish. Contributions are welcomed from new and established authors who want to write like it’s 1978 – without self-censorship or AI. Give us the raw spontaneity of early punk rock combined with the storytelling genius of Kurt Vonnegut. Power Cut is a print magazine, and while we are not in a position to provide payment yet, all contributors will receive one free copy of the magazine. Kristina Stevens (editor) has an honours degree in English Literature and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP). She is a querying author and is working on her second novel.
