Submissions deadline: APRIL 1st 2024

Unreal Press is now taking fiction submissions for Volume 3 of its weird tales anthology: Tales of the Unreal. The theme this year is SCI-FI.

Submissions of 1,500 to 5,000 words are welcome. Anything weird, speculative, strange, sci-fi and otherwise out of this world is accepted. Welcome influences are Clark Asthon Smith, Gene Wolfe and Ray Bradbury. It is advisable to have a read through Volume 1 and 2 which is available on Amazon to get a feel for what’s expected.

Submissions are open until April 1st for both new and established writers.

Unreal Press is an independent press publisher focusing on providing promising young writers the tools and platform to grow into the best writers of a generation. We target literary and transgressive fiction and poetry that is otherwise incompatible with the established publishing status quo.

Unreal Press was founded by a group of users from the internet’s best literature forum and is managed by previously published writers. The writers here have reverence for the Western Canon and contemporary works, while also being well equipped to shape the styles of the future.

There is no age limit. There is no limit to number of entries as long as piece doesn’t exceed said word count. The finalists grant Unreal Press the right to use their work in electronic form or in print for the specific purpose of promoting Tales of the Unreal without restriction in any media. Please ensure piece is submitted in standard manuscript format.
