Competition Deadline: 28 February 2022

The Minds Shine Bright Writing Competition is open and calling for entries.

The theme is confidence. After a couple of topsy turvy years exploring confidence through fiction will provide a creative focus.

The competition is open to writers of fiction and includes the following four categories and limits:
Short stories: 5000 words
Flash Fiction: 1000 words
Poetry: 240 lines
Scripts: 90 pages

Entry Fee: AUD $5
Prizes: AUD $1000 overall winner, $500 for category winners, $100 commendations. Winners will be published in an anthology in mid-2022.

The judge of the competition is Amanda Scotney the founder of Minds Shine Bright, an art business based in Melbourne, Australia that promotes writers and other creative projects. Amanda’s writing has been published in anthologies and magazines including Island. Her short films have been screened at indie film nights, art exhibitions and to not for profit groups. The inspiration for the Minds Shine Bright writing competition came when she was walking along St Kilda West dog’s beach one sunny afternoon.
