We’ve designed our Member Pages to give you the best exposure, to take the hassle out of maintaining your own blog or website, giving you a space on the web that is highly ranked with search engines. As an Author member you can link to your books and your chosen sales page. Link to your Member Page in your email signature so contacts can find out more about your writing. Keep our users updated about your work on the Members blog.
We are often contacted about content posted on Writing.ie, most recently by an educational publisher based in Western Australia who was interest in licensing a story, for a Year 9 text book, that was posted on the Members Blog. We regularly connect writers to journalists for specialist interviews (radio and print press), publishers and agents, with a contributors work previously appearing on the junior cert exam paper as a result.
Our member benefits section also gives you access to a range of discounts that will make that membership even more worthwhile. In addition, if you’re joining as an author or organisation member, it’s tax deductible!
Writing.ie is all about providing free resources to writers, at every stage of their career, and assisting them in promoting their work to a global audience. It’s vital to us that all the information and learning tools we publish are the best available, offer sound advice and are accessible to all – we are multi-award winning for a good reason. Please note that all submissions to Writing.ie must adhere to our Dignity and Respect Policy and are published subject to editorial agreement. Our Dignity and Respect Policy ensures that users can visit Writing.ie in the knowledge that it is a safe and productive environment, free from bullying or harassment where their well-being is considered and protected. All editorial decisions are final.
As we don’t receive any direct funding, it is our fantastic site visitors who help keep us going, through advertising and most importantly, membership.
Once you create your Member Page it remains on Writing.ie for life (unless you require us to remove it) but your subscription enables you to edit and update it.
Our ever growing benefits of membership include:
- 50% discount on 1 year subscription for The Bookseller
- 20% off your first year subscription when you use our code to join the Society of Authors
- 10% discount selected Professional Writing Academy Online Courses

To post EVENTS, become a Registered User with writing.ie for free (it’s just to keep out the bots) complete the events form, and we will share on our social as much as possible. Only Organisation members have access to post in our courses section – courses are NOT published in events (unless they are free), so in order to post a course you need to join as a Organisation member.
Our users are approximately 30% Irish/Ireland, 30% UK and 30% the rest of the world, so – particularly if you are running an online event or course – we can help!
If you are looking for a member community, where you can get coaching, mentoring, and critique, check out Writers Ink, our online writers group.
Authors and Writers
If you are a writer (either an Author or a Writer) membership enables you showcase your own work and use our Members Blog to highlight your activities and shout about your successes.
Author membership is aimed at published authors and your page has space to post details of your books together with a sales link; Writer membership is aimed at unpublished authors and allows you to post a sample and details of your work in progress (keep this updated!)
Many of our visitors work in the Publishing industry, so if your are an emerging writer, this is a place to get noticed. If you are an author with a book launch, signing or reading planned, add it to our events pages to let our readers know.
Organisations
If you are an organisation running courses, workshops or paid events, use your member profile page to show our visitors what you do and to link to your own website and social media. Membership as an organisation entitles you to upload unlimited courses and post to the Members blog. Only organisation members have access to post to our courses section (don’t try and put them in events, they won’t get published!)
If you provide a service for writers, join our targeted Services for Writers directory to reach your customers directly. Sign up here.
