Submitting to Writing.ie
We are always delighted to hear from authors who can help other writers with their own experiences. In the first instance contact email@example.com with information about you and your book plus your ideas for an article/articles.
Our main sections are the Meet the Authors feature section (usually timed with the release of a book and hotly contested as we only run 2 per week), and our tips and how-to Resources section (4 per week). In out Tell Your Own Story section we are very keen to hear your personal memory stories (all stories are submitted to the National Archive) – please submit via the webform in that section. We are also interested in your Writing&Me stories – tell our users about you and your writing and promote your book.
Join as a member and you will have access to the Members Blog where you can highlight your successes, rant about writers block, suggest writing prompts or highlight events you might be involved in.
If you are interested in submitting an article to writing.ie, our articles are 800-1000 words long (although if you have valuable points to make we can run over 1000 words). If accepted for publication we will need your author photo (in portrait format, ideally 140 pixels x 210 pixels), your author bio with any links to your book/social media etc, and your book blurb and a jpeg of the cover (ideally 140 pixels x 210 pixels – we recommend www.picresize.com). Writing.ie does not receive funding for any of the English Language sections of the site so unfortunately we are unable to pay authors for articles, but we can connect you to an awful lot of people via social media (over 20,000 across our various accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and Linked in) in addition to our thousands of regular visitors. All authors retain copyright.
Please submit articles in a word document as an attachment, in Times New Roman, 12pt font, single spaced to firstname.lastname@example.org. Paragraphs should be left- aligned (no indent) with a line between them. Book titles should be in itallics rather than inverted commas.
We do not accept submissions of poetry or fiction, but these can be published on the Members Blog by members of writing.ie.
