Fresh Words – an International Literary Magazine, an independent global literary platform – has announced a series of open calls for submissions and editorial positions for the latter half of 2026. Open Submission Calls
1. THE FINAL SIXTY — One-Minute Play Anthology (Vol. 1)
Fresh Words invites playwrights to submit minimalist theatrical works of one minute in performance length (1–2 pages, maximum of 2–3 characters) that explore urgency, finality, and the gravity of a single decisive moment. Submissions are accepted in English only, with a maximum of 2 entries per playwright.

2. THINGS LEFT UNSAID — Flash Fiction Anthology
The magazine welcomes complete flash fiction narratives of 100 to 300 words that explore the vast territory of silence — conversations that never took place, words left unspoken, and confessions abandoned before dawn.

3. RAIN AND ROOTS — Nature & Earth Haiku Anthology
Poets are invited to submit original, nature-themed haiku in traditional 3-line format. Each poet may contribute up to seven (7) haiku, compiled into a single document.

— All submissions are accepted free of charge.
— Authors retain full copyright; Fresh Words requests one-time, non-exclusive publication rights, which revert to the author upon publication.
— Contributors get social media promotion. These anthologies are currently non-paying markets.

Fresh Words Call for Guest Editors
Fresh Words is currently seeking bilingual Guest Editors to curate language-specific poetry and flash fiction anthologies in German, Polish, Spanish, and Japanese. Selected editors will be responsible for adapting seasonal themes to cultural contexts, reviewing submissions, providing light editorial guidance, and authoring the volume’s editorial preface. Candidates are required to possess native or bilingual fluency in the target language, a strong working command of English, and demonstrable prior editorial or literary experience. The role is volunteer and project-based, offering prominent publication credit and international visibility.
