Bio

I;m a historical fiction author from Kilkenny, Ireland. My passion lies in bringing the past to life through compelling stories of resilience, courage, and identity.

My debut novel, Dublin’s Girl (2020), follows a young woman navigating Ireland’s fight for independence.

My latest, Kitty’s War (2024), explores the challenges of World War II through the eyes of a brave woman entangled in wartime intelligence.
My work has been featured on popular radio shows such as The Ryan Tubridy Show and The Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio One, and I have had short stories published in two anthologies. Writing continues to be a profound passion for me, driving me to create stories that resonate and captivate.

I was selected for a mentoring program with Words Ireland and received a bursary from the Arts Council of Ireland, both of which significantly developed my writing skills. These opportunities culminated in the publication of my debut novel, ‘Dublin’s Girl,’ which became a bestseller, reaching the sixth position on The Irish Times bestseller list—a moment of great pride and validation as a writer.

I draw inspiration from Ireland’s rich history and cultural heritage, blending meticulous research with evocative storytelling to create immersive tales that linger long after the final page.

Dublins Girl

Dublin’s Girl follows the journey of Veronica McDermott, a young woman thrust into the heart of Ireland’s fight for independence during the early 1920s. After leaving her rural home for Dublin, Veronica becomes a secretary to Michael Collins, one of the most prominent figures in the Irish revolutionary movement.
As Veronica navigates the political intrigue and danger of working for Collins, she must also grapple with her personal sacrifices, torn between her duties to the cause and her own desires for a peaceful, ordinary life. Amid the chaos of war and espionage, she discovers her own courage and resilience, playing a vital role in shaping Ireland’s future.
Richly woven with historical detail, Dublin’s Girl is a story of love, loyalty, and the fight for freedom, offering a poignant and personal glimpse into a defining moment in Irish history.

Kittys War

Kitty’s War tells the story of Kitty Flynn, a spirited young woman who finds herself drawn into the perilous world of espionage during World War II. Set against the backdrop of Ireland’s neutral stance in the war, Kitty is recruited into G2, the Irish military intelligence branch, where she is tasked with navigating a web of secrets, betrayals, and high-stakes missions.
As Kitty takes on dangerous assignments, she must confront her own past, including a harrowing experience in a mother-and-baby home that continues to haunt her. Balancing her duty to her country with her personal struggles, Kitty faces challenges that test her resolve and force her to reconcile with the woman she wants to become.
With vivid historical detail and a strong, resilient heroine, Kitty’s War is a tale of courage, identity, and the enduring power of hope in the face of adversity.
