Bio

Andy Luke is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He holds a B.A. (Hons) in Education, Media and Social Sciences from Oxford Brookes. His work in comics includes the critically successful ‘Gran’, the UnLtd Award winning autobiography ‘Absence: a comic about epilepsy’ and ‘Bottomley’ from the Eisner nominated ‘To End All Wars’ by Soaring Penguin Press. He hosted and coproduced Northern Visions TV’s acclaimed documentary on the history of Northern Irish comic strips, ‘The Invisible Artist’. His 2021 novel, ‘Occupied’, is inspired by experiences as a former member of the Occupy Belfast camp and it’s probably the greatest novel you’ll read this year. Lesser prose works include ‘Axel America and the US Election Race’, ‘Spide: The Lost Tribes’ and the quite good Patreon exclusive, ‘Thor’s Day in Juno’. His poetry appears in ‘Chaos Magic: Collected Poems 2011-2020’ with a second compilation forthcoming. He produces audio essays in the form of ‘The Drew and Look Podcast’, one of four monthly ‘things’ at his micro-subscriber platform, www.patreon.com/andyluke
