Bio
Bengü Salmo is currently an Account Executive at a large tech company, where she blends her skills in method acting with her corporate hustle. By day, she’s crushing it in tech, and by night, she’s analyzing the research conducted during the day for the countless ideas she has after a day of surviving the corporate world. Bengü earned her master’s degree in English and German Linguistics from Leibniz University Hanover, and before diving into the tech scene, she worked in libraries and admin roles at universities – Nothing beats a good cataloging system after all.
Now, she calls Dublin, Ireland, home, where she lives with her British partner. And just to clarify, she moved there entirely of her own volition – no influence from UK visa regulations post-Brexit (thanks, Boris!). Her career is a fun mix of academia, tech, and some help in the animal shelter.
Bengü is passionate about languages and tech – also a completely honest statement that has nothing to do with her director potentially reading this one day. When she’s not working, you can find her perfecting her Volleyball hits – it’s been several years and recently she’s made immense progress by actually hitting the ball. If there’s still time left after all that, she’s busy writing down her “big idea” for a book.

Welcome to The Knackered Knights & the Burnt-Out Dragon (working title). In the great Kingdom of Beak Tek everyone has the opportunity to become a great hero by joining the “Knackered Knights” – a crew of diligent, hard-working and underpaid knights who juggle various tasks such as beast-slaying quotas and road inspections. Finally they discover some signs of a dragon’s presence in the Kingdom! A once-in-a-lifetime chance for a truly heroic task… and an even more heroic commission!
Navigating a battle against a dragon is hard enough as it is, but you’ll also have to buckle up for some moral dilemmas. Is King Aalto’s vision of a beast-free utopia really what it promises to be? Should you question your loyalty to the kingdom, or stick to the mission for that sweet, sweet commission? With a mix of quirky characters – from cranky Carlo to the hard-working Milly – and some twists along the way, this adventure is about more than just dragon-slaying. It’s about figuring out what’s worth fighting for… and what to do when your job is burning you out faster than a dragon’s breath.

About the World of Beak Tec:
Welcome Beak Tec, a kingdom born from the clash of two maritime gods and now ruled by our generous King Aalto. Your ultimate goal here? To become a Shining Knight now affectionately called “Knackered Knights” by our townspeople. At Beak Tec we take our fish-cataloguing, pebble counting, and beast slaying quotas VERY seriously. Conquer those tasks and you too might call yourself a Shining Knight one day!
Team Overview:
Led by Sergeant Sue, one of our most compassionate and hard working Knights. The team include:
Carlo: A wise veteran always available for good advice and constructive criticism.
Bib and Beb: Bib brings all the energy and Beb the curiosity – we huddled these two together as they only come in a unit!
Milly: Our newest and most hard-working recruit. So hard-working that it’s almost suspicious.
Kevin: Has been around longer than most of us. He might even be part of the furniture at this point!
Key Responsibilities:
– Dragon-Slaying Quest: Some signs of a dragon have been spotted in the Kingdom, and the Knackered Knights are the chosen ones to slay it! (Woohoo) There’s a generous commission at stake, and we’ll supply you with the right equipment, training, and even a free will-writing consultation!
– Uncovering the Truth: The kingdom’s quotas to create a beast-free utopia to increase the treasures of the merchant league the generous patrons of so many kingdoms – might not be as beneficial as they sound. Hence you will begin to question your orders and evaluate the fairness of the mission.
– A Moral Dilemma: As the mission will uncover the truth of the ecological damage caused by King Aalto’s illusive goals, you will be confronted with devising a plan to abandon your commission and loyalty to the kingdom and aid the Knights in an attempt to navigate a tricky situation.
– Personal Growth: Get ready for a fast-paced and dynamic environment as you question the morals of the Kingdom you’re serving while playing the system to find a way to break it! Navigate spontaneous planning by abandoning the quest as it will lead to dire consequences for all of the Knackered Knights if you are caught.

– Moral and Courageous: You are willing to question authority and feel the strong drive to confront your rulers about their goals.
– Dedicated but Doubtful: While motivated by your salary, you are open to question your role and the practices of your kingdom.
– Problem Solver: You are able to find a balance between physical dangers and moral dilemmas.
Additional Considerations:
This mission will include meeting and collaborating with various important staff in the Kingdom such as our wonderful activity-target-tracker Elenore, recruited from the Harpy colony; or our talented mage Lola, a distant cousin of King Aalto. A collaboration between these departments is essential to test your courage, loyalty, and sense of justice.
