My Book is based on my memories as a child under the care system of Ireland and what that was like, through my innocent, confused yet thoughtful world.
So often we find the Foster Carer’s or the Social Worker’s experience but there is very little on a child’s point of view. The book is dedicated to those who became the main character of their own true story in Foster Care or Adoption but fell silent under a system fluent in chaos, paperwork and the urgency of physical safety. It is to re-awaken their memories and inspire them enough to feel worthy of using their own voice. For it’s only those brave souls, who can really tell of their account, no matter how dark, how scary, how big or how small.
