Willowbrook Glamping – Creative Writing Retreats

Willowbrook Glamping & Hideaways is a camping and glamping site in North Roscommon which holds expression and creativity at its core. As well as being a place where people come to get away from the daily grind and spend some time in peace and nature, Willowbrook is also a destination for people from all over Ireland and beyond who participate in one of the many events run on the site throughout the year. Central to this schedule of events are the creative writing retreats which take place each May and September. Site owners Tuesday and Wes create these events to bring people together and to create the conditions where the creative spark we all hold inside us can ignite. The Creative writing retreats are weekend long events (Friday evening to Sunday morning), with a relaxed judgement free atmosphere. All meals are catered for throughout the weekend, and solo accommodation or shared accommodation options are available (in Pods, yurts or other accommodation on site) as well as camping pitches for tents/campervans/caravans). Participants spend the weekend in the company of 3 accompliched writers of various styles, in facilitator roles, and learn various techniques and new ways of approachingtheir writing practice in a non-academic atmosphere which allows the imagination the freedom to explore and create in the safety of a judgement-free space.
