My brother Simon passed away peacefully on the 18th of August 2025. This was written for him:

Images

Images of you burnt in my brain,
Can’t erase the hurt and the pain.
As you lay there with tubes to breathe,
Wires and beeps fulfilling your needs.

These memories forever I will carry with me,
If there is a God, I hope he can see,
The anguish I feel is a physical pain.
Thrashing my soul worse than a cane.

The tears I have shed but to no avail.
You left us anyway, shattered and frail.
I hope you found peace in your gig in the sky.
You’ve left us all pondering the big question WHY.

Was there more I could’ve done or said,
To alleviate the pain you felt in your head.
An anecdote that I forgot that may have helped,
These questions will haunt me till I’m fully skelped.
