Bord Gais Energy Donate a Library Campaign

Writing.ie | News for Readers

Irish people are among the most generous in the world when it comes to donating to good causes, however in these tough times charities, voluntary, and community groups all over Ireland are experiencing a shortage of funding, particularly when it comes to non-essential services.  With this in mind, Bord Gais Energy have decided to share their love of books and reading by donating libraries to community and voluntary organisations nationwide.

Bord Gáis Energy Book Club Donate A Library is being run with the support of The Wheel, Ireland’s leading support and representative body for community, voluntary and charitable organisations. This new programme will give Bord Gáis Energy customers, book club members and the Irish public the chance to nominate a local charity or voluntary organisation who they believe would benefit from a library to the value of €1,500. This ongoing project will see a new library donation take place every four months.

Bord Gais Energy will donate a library to different organisations within the community and voluntary sector, every four months on an ongoing basis. Those wishing to nominate an organisation can do so at www.bordgaisenergybookclub.ie. Each nomination will be judged by a panel which comprises Gert Ackerman from The Wheel, Emma Walsh from Bord Gáis Energy and Sinead Desmond from the Bord Gáis Energy Bookclub on Ireland AM.

Nomination forms will be available from bordgaisenergybookclub.ie from the 23rd April and applications are welcome from individuals and organisations throughout Ireland.
