A really good read can be hard to find – with tens of thousands of books published every week both in Ireland and worldwide, how do you find the best one for you? Book reviews are an ideal way to find out more about a book and to get a readers view on exactly why they enjoyed it (or didn’t!)
With our new look site, writing.ie now have an easy access book review section where you can spread the news of the great books you’ve read – whether it’s an eBook or print, independently published or traditionally published, our readers want to hear your thoughts. We have a long list of genres on our review submission page, but if the genre isn’t there, just let us know and we’ll add it. Click here to check out the page: https://www.writing.ie//submit-book-review/
We’d also love to hear from book clubs on books you’ve enjoyed – did you have a heated debate on a particular title? Share it with us!
What makes a good review?
Not everyone will know the plot or storyline of your chosen book, so give us an outline of what it’s about, avoiding spoilers! Then we want to know what you thought of it, what were the highlights for you? Did it fulfill your expectations and hold you to the end, or did you love the opening but find it sagged a bit in the middle? Were the characters clearly drawn, the plot issues resolved satisfactorily? Give us a few lines on your thoughts.
There is nothing nicer you can do for a writer, than spread the news that you enjoyed their book.
Please note all reviews are subject to editorial approval before publication.
