Set 6 years after Lissy was claimed by the Swan King and trapped in the halls of the Hidden which she can never leave for fear of him releasing a plague on mankind. Now 14 year old Connie, has been led to believe her sister died 6 years ago, and must face the truth that Lissy is alive, and not human. As it grows harder for the Hidden to stay hidden, Lissy must choose – release the Hidden and the threat of her fathers plague, or let Connie be tricked to do it for her.
This is a thrilling, exciting and brilliantly written sequel to Hidden Among Us that I absolutely loved. The first book book was intense, scary and excellent but The Hidden Princess was a lot deeper. You got to understand the characters emotions more, feel sympathy and compassion for them and that’s what really stood out for me in this book.
All the characters seemed to have a lot more depth, especially the new characters like Nicholas and Ivy, who I really like because they bring a lot more much needed emotion and relatable realness. The plot is interesting and compelling and intense to read and you always want to know what happens next. Although Connie and Joe annoy me some of the time, this is a very gripping and amazing story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. One of my favourites this year, 9/10.
