A thrilling teenage book about 16 year old Violet Lasting.

Ripped from their families at a young age, Violet and hundreds of girls like her, are sold as slave surrogates to rich families in the Jewel. A prisoner in the palace of the Duchess of the Lake, her future will be to carry and conceive a child for the murderous and cruel Duchess. But when she is offered a chance for freedom, and learns the dark plans of the Electress, will she save herself or her friend?

Words cannot describe how much I adore this book.

Violet is such a good heroine, you can relate to her so much in lots of ways. The other characters like Raven, Ash, the Duchess, AnnabelI, they all have something special and enteresting to bring to the book. I feel like this could be the new Hunger Games, thrilling, suspenseful, beautifully written, characters so wonderfully fleshed out, this is an incredible book that I recommend to all teenagers!
